Travelling to Japan has been one of my dreams for a long long time. I was about to go once, but then there was an economic crisis in Argentina and the dollar went up up up and I just couldn't afford the trip. That was several years ago. Unfortunately, things in my country haven't changed much. We live in an economic roller coaster which usually goes down abruptly. However, I believe that if you really wish to accomplish something, you can do it. No matter how difficult something might seem, if you work hard and aim for your goal, you'll eventually get there. So, I'm pretty sure I'll manage to visit Japan. And when I get to do it, I'll take the following things into account.
First of all, I think that the best time of the year to visit Tokyo is winter. I really hate cold weather and I get sick very easily, but December has always been my favorite month for many reasons.
First, the holidays! I love Christmas time and although I know they don't celebrate Christmas in Japan, they always put up beautiful Xmas decorations and that's what I love the most about it. Apart from that, there are the new year celebrations! I always see the different ways people celebrate the new year around the world and I wish I could be there. We don't do anything special in Argentina. I mean, people don't get together at a landmark and do the count down so it's usually pretty boring.
Secondly, it's my birthday!! I can picture myself having the most epic birthday in Tokyo! Did anyone say shopping spree?? Well, that's the third reason why I love December... End of the year sales!!!
I must correct myself here tho... There are sales in December but you'll find the most important discounts at the very beginning of the new year, usually on January 1st and 2nd (at least that's the case in Japan). I'd totally camp outside the Angelic Pretty store to be able to grab a lucky pack and everything that is 50 or 70% off! Then I'd head to Closet Child and literally every other store which sells kawaii clothing (yeah Liz Lisa, I'm looking at you and your flowery suitcases filled with cuteness...)
To top it off, I'd loooove to attend Angelic Pretty grand tea party. Last year's looked amazing! It'd be a dream come true.
So, that's pretty much my perfect holiday trip to Tokyo. Visiting Sanrio Puroland, cute pop up cafés (andthe Monster Café that is about to open!), parks with animals going around, etc. are other musts. And it'd be awesome to feel the snow. I've only experienced snow once in my life. It was July 9 in 2007 (Independence Day) when it unexpectedly snowed in Buenos Aires. It was magical! I'd love to touch the snow again and make a snowman.
What would you like to do if you got the chance to go to Japan? What places would you visit? Where would you like to go shopping?
Let me know!
